Nostalgic about Ambassador
A car of yesteryears
Maybe around 1972
An ambassador, a bulky car
We had owned with pride
Pride because of its wide figure
Secondly, an official car of every minister
With beacon on top like a crown
Flashing red as it passed
All the streets went empty
With traffic policemen marking salutations
Its sound made heads turn around
And awed struck, looking at it
Well! That was minister’s car
Coming to our car- A modest one
Blue color, like gigantic ocean
Moved smoothly, swiftly
On rumpy jumpy roads
Windows rolled down
We all sat squeezing each other
Fighting for whatever space we found
When one moved a single part of her body
With dicky ( no slang intended) rear space to put baggages
In it dumped eatables, chairs, mattresses, blankets and water jug
We all use to go to Drive-in theatre
Ahh! Those were the days
In little, there was a fun
Our childhood belonged there
In that modest Ambassador
One of the best car of childhood
