Day: 19
I don’t know! Where to start from? I, a person with humour, have to narrate a tale of bravery.
A tragedy turned triumph happened last week.
My family and I were in the sitting room
when we heard a loud bang and a cry for help.
We looked at each other quizzically,
wondering whether to open the door.
From the window, I saw
A young lady, elegantly dressed
In red dress and red stilettos, ringing the bell and knocking.
A stranger was at our door, hastily ringing the bell.
I opened the door and asked, “Who are you?
And why the repeated, hasty bells?”
She came in, followed by two men.
We were frightened.
My husband asked, “Who are you?”
“Why have you closed the door?” One man stood near the door, holding a knife to the girl’s face, who seemed familiar.
I heard muffled screams from the girl.
After a few minutes of struggle, the police arrived, pushed open the back door, and took hold of the two men. My daughter came down from her room and called the girl, “Hey Tiara, are you okay?” As she unmasked Tiara’s face, Tiara hugged her and said, “I didn’t imagine Kavish would do this to me.” “I loved him a lot!”
Tiara explained,“Kavish had come to know about her engagement
Wanted her to run away with him. When she refused, he started threatening and following her.
Tiara thanked my daughter, saying, “Ishani, thanks a lot for saving my life!”
Ishani replied, “I was up in my room and knew Tiara was coming, so I was waiting for her.” She added that Kavish had been harassing Tiara for long, and what he did that day was intolerable.
I am proud of my family’s bravery and the police’s prompt action that saved Tiara’s life.
We all stood together, supporting each other, and proved that courage can conquer even the most difficult situations.
